Thoughtful envelope addressing

Product team · Reviewed

Address each household by the names they prefer

Open Guest hospitality → Guest replies → Envelope addressing. Each household has three possible starting points: individually listed names, a compact line of names, or the household label already recorded. Edit the proposed lines before approving them.

The suggestions preserve recorded names. They do not infer titles, gender, marital status, a shared surname, or whether additional relatives are invited. For example, “Avery Chen” and “Morgan Patel” can be printed on separate lines without replacing either person’s surname. Invited children appear by their recorded names. Ask the household about a preferred honorific rather than guessing.

Approval stores the exact addressee text and the household information you reviewed. It changes envelope output only; guest names and invitation permissions remain unchanged. If the guest list, household label or collected address changes, the earlier addressing review becomes stale and must be reviewed again.

The approved mailing CSV keeps its existing address columns and adds Envelope addressee and Envelope review. Only approved postal addresses appear. A current addressing approval supplies its exact text. Otherwise the existing household label remains as a fallback and is explicitly marked for addressing review. Spreadsheet formula prefixes are escaped in the export.

Current private workspace operators can review and save addressing for their own project. A shared guest-reading permission may export already approved mailing addresses through the existing hospitality endpoint; it does not grant access to this business’s private editing desk. Nothing is mailed, emailed or published by approving envelope names.
