Software evaluation
The Knot: a practical wedding-software evaluation

What the official product material describes
A wedding planning and discovery platform whose public site includes vendor listings, a checklist, registry, wedding websites, RSVP information and stationery. Official product source. This source was reviewed on September 29, 2026. The description is based on public material; we did not complete a signed-in customer acceptance test.
Put this scenario in the demo
A couple discovers suppliers and gives guests current wedding details.
- Check how an inquiry reaches the chosen vendor and where follow-up lives.
- Preview RSVP and event visibility from a guest's perspective.
- Identify which records need to move into the planner's operational workspace.
How to make the tradeoff
Discovery and wedding execution solve related but different problems. A marketplace can remain useful alongside a shared planning workspace; the comparison should make ownership and handoffs clear rather than insisting every tool must be replaced.
Use a scorecard with four evidence labels: demonstrated live, documented, requires configuration, and not yet verified. An unanswered question is not proof that a capability is absent. Ask for the plan, provider setup and permissions used in the demonstration.
Compare the complete cost and the exit path
Enter current quotes, usage allowances, extra users, storage and processing costs into the migration and cost worksheet. We do not reproduce a price here without checking the exact billing term and market. Preserve accepted documents, reconcile open balances and rehearse one representative record before moving active work.
Try a decision before opening an account
Use the timeline-change simulator, package-pricing worksheet or gallery-delivery checklist to define what you need to see. These public tools are available to test directly. They are not evidence that every provider-backed workflow in any product is already activated.
