Gifts, thank-you notes and planning-to-website imports

Product team · Reviewed

A personal thank-you, with the details close at hand

Open Gifts & thank-yous from the wedding tracker or your couple dashboard. Record the giver, description, optional value and currency, received date, and private notes. Link a household when you want its approved mailing address available in a writing packet. Gift amounts and notes remain private to the owning workspace; connecting another professional to the wedding does not share them.

Filter by giver or gift description, then choose To write, Drafted, Sent, or Archived. Each save checks the version you opened. If somebody else has changed it, refresh and review their changes before saving again.

Save a draft or ask for writing help

Write directly into the thank-you draft and save. Ask the writing assistant opens a request with just that gift selected. The assistant sees its giver, description, private notes, existing draft, and couple names—not mailing addresses or gift value. You review the model usage charge and selected source before generation, then edit and approve the exact proposal before it can replace the saved draft. A changed or archived gift requires fresh review. Model requests become available after the coordinated AI configuration and spending enrollment.

Neither saving a draft nor approving an assistant suggestion sends anything or changes an existing sent status. Print your notes or deliver them separately, then explicitly record the delivery method. A corrected draft for an already sent note retains its previous delivery record.

Prepare a writing session

Select up to 50 gifts on the current page and choose Prepare writing packet. The packet combines giver, gift, saved wording, and household address only when that address was approved. Missing or unapproved addresses are identified so you can resolve them before addressing envelopes. Use Print / save PDF for the prepared packet. Preparing it does not record delivery.

For notes you have actually delivered, select the delivery method and confirm that you sent them before recording a batch as sent. A changed gift stops the whole batch for review. The workspace does not mail cards or send these notes by email.

Archive a mistaken or duplicate gift instead of deleting it. Recover it from the Archived filter, with its draft, sent record, and registry links intact. Registry matching is separate: open Registry & received-gift matching to associate a received gift with a requested product. Archived gifts are unavailable for new matches; earlier links remain retained.

Reuse planning details without exposing private records

In the website editor, save your current work and open Bring planning details into your website. Choose up to 40 cards from one of these sources:

  • The current published timeline: selected titles, dates, times, timezone, durations, and locations. Draft changes are never imported automatically.
  • Guest-visible room blocks: hotel name and address, room type, dates, optional nightly rate, cutoff, and a supported public booking link. Private allocations, confirmation numbers, notes, booking codes, and capacity are excluded.
  • Guest-visible wedding-party members: selected name, role, and public biography. Email addresses, telephone numbers, notes, and photographs are excluded.

Guest-visible information may still be inappropriate for a public website. Review every exact card in the preview and explicitly confirm the new audience. Unsupported or private capability links are omitted. The tool adds a new section to your saved draft; it does not replace manually written sections or publish the website. Edit that section in the normal editor, then complete the separate publication review.

The preview binds the selected source revisions and current website revision. Changes to either require another preview. Retrying the same request cannot append a duplicate section. Existing public pages remain unchanged until you publish. Future planning changes do not silently rewrite imported sections; import a fresh selection or edit and review the website deliberately. The picker shows up to 200 eligible hotel blocks or party members, and the website supports up to 30 sections.

Access and recovery

These operations require a named, active member with full access to the owning workspace. A guest invitation, shared-wedding participation, or contractor seat alone does not grant private gifts or website editing. Versioned API callers use the same checks and services. Gift mutations retain private request receipts; website imports retain selected source identities and revisions with their saved request. The website's existing published-version restore remains separate from quiet draft editing.
