17hats: a practical wedding-software evaluation

What the official product material describes

Small-business management software whose public site describes pipelines, scheduling, SMS, contracts, invoices, questionnaires, workflows and bookkeeping tools. Official product source. This source was reviewed on September 29, 2026. The description is based on public material; we did not complete a signed-in customer acceptance test.

Put this scenario in the demo

A small studio coordinates client communication, appointments and invoices without duplicate entry.

  1. Test a scheduled message after the client changes their appointment.
  2. Review the invoice, payment and bookkeeping handoff as separate records.
  3. Check the limits and provider requirements of the exact plan you would buy.

How to make the tradeoff

Compare the working sequence your business repeats most often. A general service-business product may cover that well; a wedding-specific alternative should demonstrate why its shared event context improves your actual handoffs.

Use a scorecard with four evidence labels: demonstrated live, documented, requires configuration, and not yet verified. An unanswered question is not proof that a capability is absent. Ask for the plan, provider setup and permissions used in the demonstration.

Compare the complete cost and the exit path

Enter current quotes, usage allowances, extra users, storage and processing costs into the migration and cost worksheet. We do not reproduce a price here without checking the exact billing term and market. Preserve accepted documents, reconcile open balances and rehearse one representative record before moving active work.

Try a decision before opening an account

Use the timeline-change simulator, package-pricing worksheet or gallery-delivery checklist to define what you need to see. These public tools are available to test directly. They are not evidence that every provider-backed workflow in any product is already activated.
