Design boards

Save design directions and review exact revisions

Product documentation · Reviewed

Open a wedding and choose Design boards. Create a separate board for each direction you want people to consider: ceremony flowers, reception tables or stationery, for example. Only an owner, administrator or staff member with full private workspace access can manage boards.

Save the direction before requesting a decision

Give the board a title and brief. Add references with a title, notes, an optional HTTPS source link and up to ten six-digit hex colors. Separate colors with spaces or commas. Use Add an image without leaving your board to upload a private reference, then select it on a card. Existing permitted images from this wedding’s Documents library remain selectable. A manually pasted Pinterest link remains a source reference. Use Bring in your Pinterest references for an authorized account import.

Saving creates an immutable revision. Each board can contain up to 100 references. If another coordinator saves first, reload before saving your changes. If the response is interrupted, use Check original save to recover the same request rather than creating an unintended extra revision.

For example, save a “Garden dinner” board with sage linen, cream napkins and copper candleholders. In the linen reference, explain which texture matters and paste the original source link. Save revision 1 before sending it for review.

Invite each person to the exact revision

Open Create a per-person review link, label the person or role, choose a deadline within the next 30 days, and decide whether this person may approve. A board needs at least one reference before sharing. Up to 30 non-revoked links can belong to one revision.

Copy the generated URL and share it yourself. No email is sent automatically. Copy it before leaving the page: only a fingerprint is stored, so a lost link must be revoked and replaced. Anyone holding the link can use that reviewer’s permission and enter a name; this is not verified identity or a legal signature. Send links only to the intended people.

A review link shows the saved design, its reference images and comments on that revision. It does not expose other wedding records, documents, contact details or business finances. Expired and revoked links stop opening the review. An image URL already issued to a browser can remain usable for up to 60 seconds after revocation; there is no permanent public image URL.

Resolve feedback and record approval

A reviewer can comment on the whole board or one reference. Other people reviewing the same revision can see that conversation. The coordinator resolves comments after handling the feedback. Approval requires all comments to be resolved, available unchanged reference images, the reviewer’s name and an explicit confirmation of the displayed revision.

Each person allowed to approve records their own decision. The board becomes approved once all its required non-revoked reviewers have approved. Revoking a pending reviewer cannot silently produce approval while unresolved feedback remains. A recorded approval stays in history even if its link is later revoked.

In the garden dinner example, Alex asks for a warmer napkin. Resolve the question with the couple. If the design changes, save revision 2 and create new review links. Revision 1’s links continue to show the old design, labeled as superseded, without allowing new comments or approvals. An approval of revision 1 never approves revision 2.

An approved revision is closed to new feedback and required approvers. New viewing links may show its record; save a new revision to begin another decision round. Design approval records a creative decision. It does not sign a contract, authorize a purchase or place an order.

Recover without losing the record

Open Revision history to inspect saved content and its comments, links and approvals. A missing image shows an unavailable-image message; check the selected document and saved revision before asking for approval. Modified or corrupt snapshot content is blocked from review rather than presented as the approved design.

Saved design revisions retain their referenced private images. Deleting a document is blocked while a saved revision references it, including after all its review links expire or are revoked. Removing the image from a new revision does not erase the older record. Destructive design-history deletion is not currently provided.

The application workflow has been exercised with generated private image fixtures and isolated database tests. Production uploads require configured private storage; local fixture success does not verify a production storage account or external delivery.

Organize, find and sample references

Create up to 20 named sections, such as Ceremony, Dinner and Stationery. Move references up or down and assign each to a section. Removing a section returns its references to the unsorted group; it does not delete them. Search titles, notes and creator credits to find an existing reference.

The private image library searches this wedding’s ready images by filename. It does not search other clients or the public web. Private library previews are checksum verified, served without caching, and limited to source images under 25 MB. Choose Pick colors from this image, click a detail, or use the arrow keys and Enter to add its exact hex value. The numeric across/down controls provide another keyboard path. Up to ten colors belong to each reference. Sampled screen colors are not a print color guarantee.

Import from your authorized Pinterest account

A workspace owner or administrator starts Connect Pinterest and approves read-only board, Pin and account access. Choose Also request read access to my secret boards and Pins only if you want those boards available. Pinterest still controls which boards and Pins the connected account can access. To change the connected account or add secret-board permission, save the draft, disconnect, then connect again with the appropriate option.

Return to the editor, load authorized boards, choose one source board, and select up to 100 Pins per batch. Load subsequent pages explicitly. Search applies to the loaded Pins, not the entire Pinterest service. Inspect the original Pin before selecting it. Only full private-workspace operators may browse, import or recover these references; wedding participants and design-review links cannot see the connection or import history.

Source links and attribution can be imported without storing images. To save private reference images as well, confirm you have permission to use and share them with the wedding’s reviewers. The displayed maximum ingest charge applies to the selected batch, while actual usage is calculated from stored bytes. Image import also requires workspace spending enrollment and must fit its spending cap. Reference images are normalized to JPEG, up to 2,200 pixels; videos remain links. The original source board, Pin and import date stay with each card.

Return to an unfinished import

Starting an import retains the reviewed selection before processing it. Your imports are saved as they go shows each Pin’s progress, its last error and completed references. Keep processing while this page is open advances the selection; Continue now advances one unfinished Pin. Completed references survive a reload. Use Load saved import history to reopen a batch, then Add ready references to this draft. They are not automatically added to a saved or approved design.

If an image write succeeds but its response is lost, recovery verifies and reuses the same stored file. It does not repeat a confirmed storage write or charge. Retrying the same batch returns the same saved selection; selecting a different batch requires a new request. A changed Pinterest image cannot silently replace the frozen image after a spending reservation. Review a new selection if the source has changed.

Pause import stops new Pins from starting; a Pin already underway may finish. Resume import keeps completed results and retries unfinished Pins. A provider outage uses bounded retries with a visible failure; Retry unfinished Pins restarts that work after the issue is resolved. If a start or pause/resume response is interrupted, use Check original import request or Check original command before submitting a different command.

For example, import 40 ceremony references and close the page after 23 finish. Return to the same wedding, load the saved batch, add those 23 references to a Ceremony section and resume the rest. Adding the same completed batch again skips Pins already on the draft and preserves your edited titles, notes and colors. A design holds 100 references; completed Pins that do not fit remain in import history for another board. Save a design revision before requesting approval.

Disconnecting ends new provider access and removes stored authorization tokens. Reconnecting, even to the same account, starts a new authorization generation: unfinished work from an older connection needs a newly reviewed selection. Completed import results remain available to current authorized workspace operators. Disconnecting does not erase references already saved in approved design history. Pinterest authorization does not grant copyright ownership. Durable history is private to the wedding’s business workspace and has no public feed.

Pinterest application approval, credentials, private storage, usage pricing and background-worker activation are verified together in the final integration phase. Until background processing is activated, leave the import page open or use Continue now; completed work remains recoverable either way. The read adapter follows Pinterest’s OAuth and permission scopes and bookmark pagination. Provider access restrictions are reported without scraping Pinterest pages.

Upload privately inside the editor

Use Add an image without leaving your board, choose a JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF or AVIF up to 8 MiB and confirm permission to store it and share its preview with invited reviewers. The image must decode within the 60 megapixel limit. The original bytes remain in private storage. A separate PNG reference, up to 2,200 pixels, removes embedded metadata; animated sources become a still image. Select the resulting library image on a reference card, then save your draft revision.

Uploading does not publish a board or grant reviewer access. Keep the editor open while the upload finishes. If its response is interrupted, Recover original upload reuses the same file and request; verified original and preview writes are not repeated. An invalid file can be replaced. Existing draft text and cards stay in place during uploads.

Full private workspace access and ownership of this wedding are required. Shared-wedding participation alone does not grant the private image library. Private storage configuration is required before real uploads can succeed; this does not activate a provider during development.

Preserve older inspiration and retire public copies

Your earlier inspiration images lists the original saved references, 30 per page. Their IDs, captions, order and links from couple decisions remain preserved. New uploads and the old public Pinterest RSS importer have been retired in the earlier moodboard interface; all new work goes through private Design boards.

For an image stored in WeddingBoard’s earlier public storage, review its source and permissions, then choose Recover original image. The service fetches only an HTTPS legacy Vercel Blob source without redirects and within the image size limit. Other source URLs are never fetched automatically. If the original is unavailable, upload your saved copy above, inspect the private preview, and choose Use reviewed replacement.

Recovery keeps private provenance for the earlier URL and path. Existing couple inspiration and the previously shared couple portal continue referencing the same image record; the portal’s current capability grants only that recovered image. Disabling or replacing that portal link ends new image access. Recovered source records are retained rather than silently deleted, and their referenced images cannot be removed from Documents.

Recovery does not erase the older public object immediately. After checking the private preview, explicitly confirm Remove old public copy. Removal is queued through the existing storage cleanup worker and its status remains visible. A failed cleanup can be retried. It never deletes the recovered private original or preview. A source still referenced by another legacy record must be recovered there first. External source websites cannot be deleted here. Old direct public-image links stop working only after the configured worker successfully removes the object; saved couple and portal references use the private image instead.

Private storage and legacy Blob deletion credentials, worker activation, and real provider recovery are verified together during final setup. Do not treat “queued” as confirmation that an old public object is gone.
